After completing Mt. Elbert in Colorado, the team headed straight to New Mexico to start the southwestern and Great Plains leg. They got a break from the really big mountains over Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and the Dakotas, but it was back to alpining it in the southwest.
To beat the heat in Arizona and Texas, the team did two night climbs managing to do an epic 5,350 vertical feet and 19 miles in 48 hours. During this leg, the team grabbed eight high points in four days.
